Water Testing

Not all well water is safe to drink

Coliforms, yuck!

At T Total Home Inspections LLC, we recommend water quality testing for homes with private wells. Shallow wells are recommended to be tested more often. Your well can become contaminated without you knowing it. Water runoff with animal feces and pesticides nearby can contaminate your well over time. Plus, standing water in your lines, especially common in vacant homes, can be hazardous as biofilms can grow. We recommend testing for lead, iron, and other contaminants as well in order to get a full picture. Our goal is to ensure you have clean drinking water year-round.

What’s in my drinking water?

Private wells can get contaminated and too concentrated with lead, pesticides, nitrates, nitrites, iron, and harmful coliform bacteria such as E.coli. These harmful coliforms, in particular, can cause you problems with gastrointestinal upset. And for persons with weak immune systems, this can be dangerous to their health. We test for total coliform, E. coli bacteria, heavy metals, and water hardness. We collect samples from the source as well as the tap without contaminating the samples and send them out for testing.

Schedule your well testing today!

It’s easy to assume that your well water is clean and safe to drink, but we recommend scheduling a water quality test to ensure that’s the case. Contaminants are microscopic that only testing can detect. If you can’t remember the last time you had your well water tested, then it’s time. Call T Total Home Inspections LLC in Cambridge for your water testing, 740-630-6985.
